Mapping survey
In July members of KIDS and volunteers, residents of Kippax, walked around the village searching for the true character of Kippax. Most of us found new, interesting features that we had never noticed before. We were amazed at some of the walls in Kippax. There is a stone drain coming out of a wall on Well Lane. One of the group decided he might like to do a project on the old walls of Kippax and trace back in time to the shape of Kippax past.
Another lady found a magnificent roof just off the High Street, quite near the Housing Office.
Looking up at the roofs on the shops near the Post Office some people were fascinated at the detail here.
We found lots of short cuts off the High Street .Do you know how many ginnels there are around Kippax?

Bingo Hall
Have you ever wondered why the old Bingo Hall has that strange -shaped front? I have been told it used to be a cinema. That flat frontage above the doors was used to show trailers of what was being shown in the cinema.

We all had a great day and thanks to the voluntary help and tuition from a local architect we are putting together a map of the character areas of Kippax.
We will complete our work one day in late September. We will post the details nearer the time. Come along and see what we are doing.

Our thanks to everyone who took part in this consultation. The final date of entry was 2nd August. We will be busy entering your answers on the computer for some time! We'll let you know what everyone wanted for Kippax in the Autumn. We will be having an exhibition of all our work so far towards the end of the year . We'll let you know where and when nearer the time.

The prize draw will be held at the next Kippax Community Environment Forum meeting 28th. August 2003 . Truffles restaurant have donated a prize of a bottle of Champagne.

Young peoples' questionnaires
A special thanks to all the young people of Kippax; your response has been magnificent! The prize draw for the £10 voucher will take place at the Forum meeting in August and you will find out who has won when you go back to school.
