Kippax Village
Ex-Pat's Page
We have had various e-mails from several sources, not just people who live in or around Kippax but from far away as Australia too. As these arrive they will be brought into the site (with the approval of their authors naturally!) for open reading. If any of you out there have relatives down under or even across the pond (USA, Canada or indeed anywhere else in the world!) then let us know or better still, get them to write in with their reminiscences and stories about Kippax.
Dear Sir/Madam
I am a Kippicer who lives in Mackay - Australia, I found your wonderful website quite by accident.

I do have a claim to fame:), I was the Coronation Queen for Kippax on June 2nd, 1953. By the way I do have some photographs of this event.

Just a suggestion, there must be many people from the village who live in far away countries like myself, is it possible that a category for such people could be included?. (No sooner said than done - webmaster)
Regards
Enid Whitaker - Mackay - Australia

Greetings from the U.S.

Hello, my name is Richard Parks Bland IV. I have traced my roots back to the Bland-Davison family and wonder if you could tell me how I might obtain a picture of Kippax Park. I'm very interested in trying to trace the name back prior to the middle ages, as to it's origins if possible, whether Scandinavian, or Latin, both of which have forms of the word 'bland'.
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. I'd also like to thank you for the web-site. I was excited to be able to view the land. I suppose Bland Hill is the location north where the Bland's came to Kippax from. Any history or references would be appreciated as well.
Sincerely, Richard
P.S. My oldest son's name is Richard Parks Bland V
